Potomac Creek Bridge-New Photo

This gem of a photo popped up on a recent search of the US National Archive. I have not seen this one before. How many other gems are hiding out there?

I need to get a higher resolution copy of this photo. The .gif in the NARA website is low resolution.

"New" Photo, huh? LOL! Very neat that even though you have the bridge built and in-place on your layout, you are still researching it. Are you planning on having a picture of the prototype on the fascia, describing it? Or, is this research for a book?

  2. Yes, I am always on the look out for more info. I still have to detail the area around the bridge.

It is gratifying to see that my scene looks a lot like this photo. Note the lack of trees. Today, it is a heavily forested area.

It seems to be a unwritten law; Build it and then you'll find the picture that show you how you should of built it.
At least for your bridge this picture shows that you built it well.

  5. Will,
Yes, that is a nice shot. The box cars on the pier have me stumped, as I cant see any evidence of the float bridge.
